Exporting Journal Entries to Excel
Exporting Journal Entries
You can export a complete list of all journal entries for a project and process them further in Excel. This allows you to create custom analyses based on the current data. The journal entries are continuously synchronized, which prevents different or outdated versions from circulating. The export option is available for the journal entries in the project. All journal entries for which the user Right of Inspection has access are always exported. The list can then be filtered and analyzed in Excel.

When you export, an ".iqy" file is downloaded. This file establishes a direct link to the journal entries in buildagil.

When the file is opened, it opens automatically in Excel. All journal entries with the "Live" status are now displayed here. If a change is made in buildagil, it is updated in the Excel file.

Download project log, analyze log data, export journal entry, journal entry as Excel, synchronize log entries, export log data, log as a table
Troubleshooting
You may encounter the error message "An unexpected error has occurred. Changes to your data cannot be saved" when opening the ".iqy" file, causing the document list export to fail:

If this error occurs, check which Microsoft account was used to sign in to Excel. Synchronization can only take place without errors if the user's Microsoft account in buildagil matches the one used in the Excel application. If the accounts do not match, synchronization will be prevented.
