Collaboration with comments

Comments are used to gather information, for discussion and to provide information to those involved in tasks and topics. They are particularly suitable for communicating interim results or relevant information so that all those involved are always kept up to date. To write a new comment, click in the text field in the comment area of the desired task and enter the text. The comment can then be saved.

Selecting the recipient group

By default, the person responsible and the persons for collaboration are automatically filled in as recipients for a comment for tasks. The addressing can also be called up manually using the @ sign in the comment field. The group of recipients can be defined individually for each comment. Individuals, entire teams or a contact group can be selected. People who are not involved in the task/topic can also be informed. This allows the notification to be limited to the relevant people. People can be removed or added via the search field.

Only those people who are selected in the recipient group are informed about the new comment. However, the comment itself remains visible to all persons involved. You can find more information on this in the article: Visibilities & authorizations of tasks & topics.

After sending a comment, you can use "@" to see which people have been notified.

Creation of follow-up tasks

If a new task is created from a comment, a follow-up task can be created directly. The entry window for the new task then opens. This is automatically linked to the original task and can be created as usual. Further information can be found in the following article: Create tasks.

Documenting comments as a decision

If a discussion in the comments leads to a decision, this can be documented directly from the corresponding comment. A new decision then opens, which links to the comment of the task. Further information on creating decisions can be found in the following article: Create & edit decisions.

Finding comments in the history

The browser search supports the targeted retrieval of comments. Within buildagil, the search can be opened with the key combination CTRL + F. This also allows you to find checklist items that are linked to a comment in the task.

Delete comments

A comment can only be deleted if no persons have been addressed in it and no other comment has been entered by another person. The reason for this is to ensure traceability for all project participants. If a comment still needs to be deleted, please contact Support.
