Signing PDF Documents

Benefits of Signature Services

When signing PDF documents electronically, it is important to distinguish between integrated signing services such as DeepSign and Skribble and simple electronic signatures, such as those available in common PDF programs like Bluebeam or PDF-XChange. In buildagil, the signing services DeepSign and Skribble are directly integrated. These providers offer a legally regulated signing process in accordance with ZertES (Switzerland) and eIDAS (EU), including identity verification, qualified certificates, and traceable logging. In addition, it is possible to electronically sign PDF documents directly within popular PDF applications, regardless of the above, particularly for use cases without legal requirements for written form.

Signing with DeepSign

To sign with DeepSign, you need a DeepSign account.

PDF documents can be sent to DeepSign for a signature using the "Sign (via DeepSign)" option.

The document is then automatically opened in DeepSign, where it can be further processed. Signed documents are then saved back to buildagil. A copy of the document with the extension "_signed" is created during this process. The signed documents can also be downloaded from DeepSign and then uploaded back to buildagil. In this way, the existing document can be stored on buildagil as New version.

For detailed information on how to use DeepSign, see the DeepSign documentation: DeepSign Support.

Signing with Skribble

Signing with Skribble is only available to companies with a Team package and a Skribble Pro plan. Please contact support to activate Skribble.

After activating Skribble in buildagil, PDF documents can be sent to Skribble for a signature using the "Sign (via Skribble)" option.

The document is then automatically opened in Skribble, where it can be further edited. Signed documents are then saved back to buildagil. In the process, a copy of the document with the extension "_signed" is created. The signed documents can also be downloaded and then uploaded back to buildagil. This allows the existing document to be saved as a new version on buildagil.
