Opening Folders & Documents in a Local Program
Setup
Accessing folders and documents via the Buildagil Opener enables a seamless connection between local programs and buildagil. The goal is to open documents directly in the appropriate program without having to switch back and forth between applications. A typical use case is editing plans or project files without having to manually download and later upload them again. This requires the installation of a utility program. The helper program links the local programs and OneDrive to buildagil. The installation of the helper program can be initiated using “Open in App,” “Open in PDF app,” or “Open in OneDrive.”

The following article explains how to install the utility: Install buildagil Opener

Opening Documents in Local Programs
Using "Open in App," you can open files directly with the local program. The program set as the default for that file format on the device is automatically selected. With this feature, you can, for example, open and edit models or CAD files directly in the desired program.

Office- and PDF documents can be opened using the corresponding icon.

Opening Folders in OneDrive
Opening folders via OneDrive allows you to access project data directly in File Explorer. This makes it easier to work with multiple files.

Troubleshooting
- "Open in app" button is missing
- The project is not being synchronized
- The program does not open or opens incorrectly
"Open in app" button is missing
If the "Open in App" button does not appear, the Buildagil Opener may have been disabled. To re-enable the opener, you can delete the local data in buildagil. This will undo the deactivation of the opener. The following article describes how to delete the local data in buildagil: Delete Local Data.
Project is not syncing
If the message "The project containing this folder/file does not appear to be synced with your OneDrive" appears, it means that the project from which the folder or file is to be opened is not synced with OneDrive. The following article describes how to set up synchronization with OneDrive: OneDrive Synchronization.

Program Does Not Open or Opens Incorrectly
If no program or the wrong program opens when you select "Open in App," the issue may be due to your local settings. You can check whether the correct program for the desired file type is specified in the Default Apps section of Windows Settings.
