OneDrive Storage Optimization

The following article describes how to sync buildagil projects with OneDrive: Synchronization with OneDrive.

OneDrive On-Demand

You should always use OneDrive On-Demand for OneDrive synchronization with buildagil. Files synchronized via OneDrive should not be marked as available offline or downloaded, as this unnecessarily takes up local storage space and can lead to synchronization issues. In the OneDrive settings, under Advanced Settings, you can fully release storage space, making all files available via OneDrive On-Demand. For more information on OneDrive On-Demand, see the following article: Save Storage Space with OneDrive Files on Demand for Windows.

Sharing OneDrive Storage Space for Folders or Files

With OneDrive, you can download entire projects or individual folders. The new versions of the files are always saved to your local storage. This is only useful if you need to access the data without an internet connection. You can tell whether an item is saved locally by its status.

From the item's options, you can select "Free up storage" to disable the "Always keep on this device" option.

Enabling Windows Storage Optimization

Windows Storage Optimization allows you to set a timeframe after which unused and locally saved OneDrive files are deleted. This deletes the files only from local storage; they remain available online on buildagil and via OneDrive. To do this, you can configure "Automatic cleanup of user content" in the Storage optimization section of Windows Settings. Additionally, under "Cloud content available locally," you can set a timeframe for each synced project after which the files should be removed from local storage.
