Restoring Documents

Restoring a Previous Version Using buildagil

Every time a document is modified, a new version is created. This allows you to view previous versions at any time and restore them if necessary. To open the version history, right-click the document and select "View Version History."

The version history displays all previous versions of the document. For more information, see the following article: Document Version History.

Clicking on the desired version will open the document in that version.

An open previous version can be restored immediately and will then become the current version.

Documents that are not part of Microsoft 365 (such as PDF, IFC, or BAM) cannot be restored directly. In this case, you can download the desired version.

You can then overwrite the current version in the same folder with the downloaded version. The overwritten version will remain in the version history. For more information, see the following article: Document Version History.

If a project folder is synced with OneDrive, previous versions can also be restored directly in Windows Explorer. For more information, see the following article: Synchronization with OneDrive. To view the version history in a folder synced with OneDrive, right-click the file you want to restore.

In the version history, you can restore, download, or delete the desired version.
