Extensions model viewer / BIM

The model viewer has been expanded to include the following functionalities:

Display of model tasks in the model
All model tasks of the loaded models can be displayed via the task icon. In the model, all Model tasks and their Excerpts are displayed via markers at their recording location. If you move the mouse pointer over a task marker, details of the respective task appear. At the same time, a list of all loaded tasks and sections appears on the right-hand side of the screen. The quick orientation and improved accessibility provided by the markers and detailed display facilitate navigation in the models and connect the tasks with the model.

You can find detailed information on displaying model tasks in the model in the following article: Show model tasks

Filter by elements and properties
The filter function can be used to filter models according to elements and properties. Different filter views can be compiled using the filter settings. Several attributes can be filtered simultaneously and the filters can be combined to display all ventilation elements of a model, for example. The filter settings can be saved in Views or Model cut-outs. If the model is expanded, the views with the filter options are also added dynamically.

You can find detailed information on the topic of filtering models in the following article: Filter models

Search for elements and properties
The search function can be used to search for elements and properties in the model, which speeds up access to specific elements.

Dimension measurement
The model can be measured using the dimension measurement role. This enables faster and more accurate measurement of the areas of a model.

Horizontal / Vertical distance measurement
This distance measurement is used for horizontal or vertical measurement (depending on the inclination of a surface) of the distance to the nearest surface. This is particularly useful for measuring distances between inclined surfaces or for complex geometric shapes and uneven surfaces.

Orthogonal distance measurement
When measuring distances, a beam is drawn at right angles to a surface and measured to the next surface.

Magnification mode for measurements
The magnification mode can be used for more precise measurements or for measurements from a large viewing distance. This is activated either via the slider in the menu or by holding down the ALT key. This enables detailed measurements to be taken from large distances, which increases the accuracy and reliability of distance measurements.

Extension distance measurement
The distance measurement engages automatically at the shortest distance to the starting point, provided that the engagement function has been activated. The CTRL key can be used to temporarily switch the snap-in function on or off. This makes it easy to carry out right-angled measurements.

You can find detailed information on the topic of measuring in the model in the following article: Measure in the model

Cuts along edges, lines and axes
It is possible to make a cut along an edge, line or axis. The snap-in function must be activated for this. This makes it possible to make precise cuts along an axis in infrastructure or road construction.

You can find detailed information on creating model cuts in the following article: Create cuts

New axle colors and projected axles
When the mouse pointer is moved over the measurement, the axes appear in different colors. In addition, the projected axis (P) and the angle to the projection (alpha) are displayed, which makes the display clearer.

Optimized performance for very large models
The performance when processing and displaying very large models has been optimized.
You can find detailed information on the model viewer and BIM in the following article: Open & edit models

Extended file information

For each file, including emails, images and videos, type-dependent file details are displayed, including file size, send date and sender/recipient (for emails), creation or recording date (for images and videos). The sort and filter function has been expanded to include the file date (for emails, images, videos, etc.), which simplifies file management.

OneDrive optimization & support for Mac

Open documents via OneDrive
The role for opening files in the app has been extended so that projects no longer need to be synchronized with OneDrive to open individual files with local programs. Open in app is intended for the Local editing of files. For example, CAD files such as DWG can be opened directly in the appropriate CAD program.

Tip: The role of Moving and copying files offers a practical alternative for managing and organizing documents.

Support for Mac
The role for Opening files in local programs is also available for macOS.

You can find detailed information on the topic of opening documents via OneDrive in the following article: Open documents via OneDrive

Extension gesture control for the mobile app

The following two roles are available in the buildagil mobile app for more efficient navigation:

Automatic scrolling to the top of the list
If a navigation button that has already been selected is clicked again, the view automatically scrolls back to the beginning of the list. This role makes it possible to return to the starting point quickly and without manual scrolling.

Quick access to the search function
Double-click on a navigation button to directly open the search in the selected division. This quick access method makes it easier to start the search immediately.
