Model editing with Revit

The download and installation of the Revit app is described in the following article: Installing the Revit app.

Advantage of the Revit app

With the Revit app, project content such as model tasks can be viewed from buildagil and associated model sections can be opened directly in Revit. The Revit app enables access to buildagil directly in Revit itself. This means that model adjustments can be made efficiently, as the appropriate sections do not have to be searched for manually.

The Revit app is currently still being introduced on buildagil. As this is a development status, there may still be changes until the general release.

As soon as the app is installed, the Revit app can be opened via the "Add-Ins" tab and the Registration can be set to buildagil.

As the role is still being introduced, the Preview version activated must be set in the app.

Settings

To define the position of a Revit model and enable coordination with other programs, the survey point must be set in the project. The settings can also be opened via the "Add-Ins" tab. You can choose between "Project Base Point" and "Survey Point".

In Revit, the project coordinate settings are saved to the user. If different survey points are used in two projects, these settings are overwritten in each case.

Project Base Point:

Fixed zero point (0,0,0) of the coordinate system in the Revit project. This remains unchanged for the entire duration of the project.

Survey point:

Reference point for determining the exact position and height of the model in the real world. Important for cooperation with other programs that also use a global reference point.

Editing models and model tasks

Models and CAD files such as RTE, RVT, RFA and RFT files that are saved on buildagil can be opened directly from the documents in Revit. Further information can be found in the following article: Opening documents in local programs. The Revit app can then be opened and used to access all project content on buildagil. Further information on navigation in the Revit app can be found in the following article: Navigation apps. Via the "Project" tab, all model tasks of the project can be opened and displayed in a list.

Model sections from buildagil can be opened directly in Revit. The corresponding model view is automatically displayed in Revit.

In order for the model section to be displayed in Revit, the model must be open in Revit in the 3D view.

The model from buildagil can be displayed directly next to the model in Revit. In addition, all model tasks and associated model sections can be accessed.

With the OneDrive synchronization exports of IFC and PDF files can be saved directly to buildagil.
