Measuring and Cutting in the Model

Measurements in the Model

Various measurement functions are available for analyzing geometries and performing distance reviews in the model. These allow for precise analysis directly in the model view. Measurements can be executed using the Distance Measurement, Dimension Measurement, Distance Measurement (Orthogonal), Distance Measurement (Horizontal/Vertical), and Point Measurement roles. The results can be saved in Views and BCF / Model Tasks. When the "Snap" function is enabled, corners and edges are automatically detected. The snap function can be temporarily disabled by holding down the "CTRL" key.

Distance Measurement
Measures the distance between two points. With the snap-to function enabled, operation is simplified.

Dimensional Measurement
Calculates the dimensions of an area.

Distance Measurement (ortho.)
Measures the distance at a right angle from one surface to the next.

Distance Measurement (Horizontal/Vertical)
Calculates the distance horizontally or vertically, regardless of the surface's orientation.

Point Measurement
Displays the coordinates of a single point.

Measurement lines can be deleted using "Remove Measurements."

Enlargement
You can activate the zoom using a slider or by holding down the "ALT" key.

Creating Sections

To improve visibility and enable targeted analysis of interior areas, sections can be created in the model. These allow for a focused view of specific areas of the model. A section can be created using the "Section" function and then selecting the desired area in the model. The alignment is performed automatically along the selected surface. To save a view with a cut, you can use a Model View.

The following roles are available for editing sections:

  1. Cross-section (move the arrows to shift the cut)
  2. Add a new cut
  3. Hide Cuts (Hides the cut surfaces)
  4. Disable cuts
  5. Remove the cuts
  6. Lock the cut into place along the axis
  7. Enable zoom
  8. Coloring the cut lines

Cuts can also be placed along an edge, line, or axis. To do this, the "Snap" function must be enabled.
