Troubleshooting

If the following troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please feel free to contact Support.

Troubleshooting Issues When Saving PDFs in Online Editor

If, when saving a PDF in the online editor after adding annotations, the message "The changes could not be saved. Please try again." appears, this may be due to one of the following reasons:

There are likely unsaved comments in the document. Comments must be saved separately before the entire PDF can be saved. It is not immediately apparent that there are still unsaved comments. You should click on all comments to verify that they have been saved correctly.

Troubleshooting Issues with Saving Annotations

If multiple people are working on a PDF document at the same time, conflicts may arise when saving. The PDF format does not support simultaneous editing by multiple users. If changes are made and saved simultaneously, comments, annotations, or elements added using the editing tools may be lost or overwritten by the other person’s changes. In such cases, the PDF should be edited using a local program so that it can be checked out and locked to prevent others from editing it.
