Installing the Navisworks app

The Navisworks app can be installed on individual devices and is available only for Windows.

When you download the file, a ZIP file will be downloaded, which must first be extracted. It is recommended that you save this file in the Navisworks Application Plugins folder. Example path:


C:\Users\hans.muster\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins


To display the "AppData" folder from the example paths, you must enable the "Show hidden items" option in File Explorer.



It is important to first extract the "buildagil.bundle" folder from the ZIP file and then save it to the Application Plugins folder.


After that, you can launch Navisworks and open buildagil from the menu bar.

Troubleshooting

If the buildagil plugin does not appear in the Navisworks menu bar after installation—even though the version, installation location, and installation steps are correct—this is often due to a Windows security block. Windows sometimes automatically blocks files downloaded from the Internet. This may also affect the "buildagil.navisworks.dll" file. In this case, you can unblock the file manually:


C:\Users\hans.muster\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\buildagil.bundle\Contents\2026\buildagil.navisworks.dll


Right-click the file, select "Properties," and go to the "Security" tab. There, you can enable the option to allow the file and confirm by clicking "Apply." The plugin should then appear after you restart Navisworks.
