Messages & Notifications

You can customize your notification preferences via the Settings in the Notification Center link.

Message Center

The Notification Center displays messages in one place so that all relevant information is clearly organized and quickly accessible. The Notification Center can be opened via the Menu Navigation.

  1. Settings for Messages & Notifications
  2. Filter Settings
  3. Search Function

The Message Center contains all messages that have been received or sent. This includes messages about new tasks, comments on tasks and topics, reminders about due dates for tasks, invitations to meetings, requests to review meeting minutes, and other relevant information.

The following article lists all types of messages sent by buildagil: Automatic Messages & Notifications

Filtering & Searching for Messages

You can further narrow down the messages using the filter and search functions. The filters distinguish between unread, open, edited, sent, and all messages. This improves clarity and makes it easier to find specific information.

  • Unread: Only unread messages are displayed
  • Open: Unread and open messages are displayed
  • Edited: Edited or archived messages are displayed
  • Sent: All outgoing messages are displayed
  • All: All messages are displayed, regardless of their status (open, edited, or sent)

You can search through messages using the search function. You can enter multiple keywords into the search bar; the order of the words does not matter. The search covers information such as subject, content, sender, recipient, and other details. If the “All” filter is selected, the search applies to both incoming and outgoing messages. This allows you to sort the displayed messages by specific projects by searching for the desired project name.

Editing Messages

Messages can be edited in various ways. Clicking on a message opens the associated item, such as a task. You can mark a message as read using the message icon. When a message is opened, its status automatically changes to "read." Clicking the checkmark icon marks a message as "edited," causing it to disappear from the view of open messages.

Settings for Messages & Notifications

The following Settings changes can be made.

  1. Messages can be marked as read or edited
  2. The reporting period for messages can be extended from 60 to 120 days
  3. You can choose which types of messages are displayed in the Notification Center. The options include assignments, comments, reminders for task due dates, or meeting preparation. Assignments are messages sent when you are designated as “Responsible” or “Collaborator” for an item, when review steps are handed off for Exam Questions and upon completion of tasks. By default, the “Message & Immediate Notification” option is enabled.
  4. You can configure which channels to use for notifications about new messages (email or push notifications).

System information & invitations, protocols & approvals, and buildagil notifications are enabled by default and cannot be disabled. This ensures that important information is always displayed. The options are shown for the sake of transparency.

Email notifications can be limited to meeting and acceptance reports or disabled entirely. These messages will then be displayed exclusively in the buildagil notification center. For more information on push notifications, see the following article: Push notifications.

Summary Notifications

If the "Message & Summary Notification" option is enabled when receiving assignments, comments, and reminders regarding task deadlines and meeting preparation, a summary of these notifications will be sent via email at 6:00 a.m. And 12:30 p.m.

If email notifications are set to "Log Only" or "Inactive," you will not be able to receive summaries via email.

This email contains all unread notifications that were unread at the time of sending and are not already included in a previous summary. Push notifications are also summarized if the "Notifications & Summary Notifications" option is enabled.

Troubleshooting Blocked Email Notifications

If email notifications from buildagil end up in the spam folder or are blocked by your email filter, you should add the domain "@buildagil.com" to your whitelist. Since the sender address may change, it is recommended that you whitelist the entire domain rather than individual addresses.
