Activate preview version

The preview version offers access to the new roles of buildagil. These roles are in the final test phase before the general release. By activating the preview version, these roles can already be used.

As the preview version is a development status, it is possible that buildagil will not behave as expected or that roles will change before the general release. The preview version can be deactivated at any time.

To activate the preview version, click on the "Profile picture" and then on "Preview version".

Project settings | File naming conventions

File naming conventions are currently still being introduced on buildagil and are only available in the preview version. As this is a development status, there may still be changes until the general release.

File naming conventions allow files in the project to be named consistently and comprehensibly. They create a clear structure and enable the automatic review of file names. Compliance with the specifications is checked automatically. Deviations are detected and flagged by the system. This reduces manual corrections and creates a reliable basis for further processing. The file naming conventions can be defined by a project administrator in the Project settings.

Conventions can be defined project-wide for specific folders or file types. Configuration is carried out flexibly using modules such as free text, selection lists and fixed or variable number and text elements. Even complex requirements can be mapped using regular expressions. Further information on setting up file naming conventions can be found in the following article: Configuring file naming conventions.

After entering or adapting a convention or file name, the system automatically recognizes all affected files. Depending on the case, these are marked as "obsolete" or "invalid". This gives project participants a clear overview and allows them to filter specifically for these files.

The states of files after applying a convention are visible to all persons who have write access to the corresponding folder. Files can be uploaded without restrictions.

The invalid file name can then be renamed in accordance with the convention.

For more information on the behavior of the file naming conventions in the documents, see the following article: Use of file naming conventions.

Messages | Summarized notifications

The new "Message & combined notification" option is now available in the Message Center. This allows notifications to be received in a bundle by email and as push notifications at 06:00 and 12:30.

The summary contains all unread messages that have not yet been opened at the time of sending and have not already been sent. This maintains an overview without having to notify each message individually. This setting can be used for the message types assignments, comments or reminders for tasks and session preparation.

For more information on messages & notifications, please refer to the following article: Messages & notifications.

BIM | Model editing with Navisworks

With the Navisworks app, project content such as Model tasks, documents and other elements from buildagil can be displayed and edited in Navisworks. The model sections from the tasks can also be opened directly in Navisworks. This eliminates the need to manually search for the correct view and allows changes to be made to the model efficiently.

As the role is still being introduced and can therefore be used buildagil in Navisworks, the Preview version must be activated.

Models saved in buildagil can be opened directly from the document area in the Navisworks app. The App also provides access to personal homes, tasks, projects and favorites. The OneDrive synchronization can be used to save changed IFC and PDF files directly back into buildagil.

You can find further information on model editing with Navisworks in the following article: Model editing with Navisworks.
