Model views

Creating model views

Model views allow you to quickly jump back to defined perspectives and facilitate navigation in the model. Views of the model can be saved. Cuts, markings, objects that are shown or hidden and coloring are adopted in the view. When the model is called up again, it jumps back to the saved perspective. A model compilation must be created to save views. Further information can be found in the following article: Model compositions & editing.

Existing views can be opened or new ones created in the "Views menu". The perspective currently displayed in the viewer is always adopted. The options can be used to copy a Generate QR code or a link to the view. New views can also be added, renamed or removed from the list.

Aligning a view to the cut

Aligning a view to the cut surface enables a precise representation of the model, especially in the 2D view. For example, the model can be displayed to scale in the 2D view. Alignment is carried out via "Focus" or by double-clicking on the sectional area.

Exporting views as PDF

It is possible to export a view as a PDF. The view is copied to the clipboard and can be pasted into Tasks & topics and journal entries in the description or in a comment.

A true-to-scale export is only possible for 2D views.

A true-to-scale PDF export of views enables precise further processing, sketching and additional technical details without having to go through a CAD program, allowing you to work more efficiently with the model. The view can be aligned to the cut surface using "Focus", which facilitates precise positioning and enables an optimal display for export. Further information can be found in the following section: Aligning a view to the cut.
