Navigation in the model

Navigating in the model

Navigation in the model is used for spatial orientation and enables a targeted view of individual elements. The various control options allow you to efficiently switch between views and analyze the model. Point rotation is activated by default. By holding down the left mouse button on any point in the model, it is used as a rotation point. The model is rotated by moving the mouse in the desired direction. Zooming is done using the mouse wheel, moving using the right mouse button. If the "CTRL key" is held down while zooming, you can navigate more slowly and precisely. You can also navigate using the "WASDQE" and arrow keys.

The navigation bar and its roles

The navigation bar provides quick access to central model functions. The following roles are available:

  1. Zoom in on visible objects
  2. Switch to 2D view
  3. Switch between point and location rotation (with location rotation, the view rotates from the point of view)
  4. Display options & navigation optimization
  5. Measure in the model
  6. Creating cuts
  7. Creation of elements
  8. Reset the view

When creating elements, BCF / model tasks and journal entries with the linked model section can be created. Furthermore, the view can be copied as Model cut-out. In addition, Create plan views and export as PDF.

Navigating with floor plans

Navigation via the floor plans enables targeted selection of floors and positions in the model. This significantly simplifies orientation in complex buildings. A floor plan is automatically generated for each floor. These floor plans, which are divided into storeys, can be opened. The viewpoint is automatically moved to the selected point in the model on the floor. The viewing direction is visible in the floor plan.

  1. Opening the floor plan navigation
  2. Opening the 2D view of the floor plan in bird's eye view
  3. Set the viewpoint by clicking on the floor plan
