Synchronization OneDrive

The following article describes how the synchronization of OneDrive with buildagil on Windows and macOS can be established and disconnected again.

It is recommended to connect projects to OneDrive only if the authoring system, especially CAD's, requires multiple files to read and save or if exports from these systems are to be executed directly to buildagil.

In all other cases, files should always be uploaded directly to buildagil and opened using the Open in app role.
You can find further information on uploading documents/folders in the following article: Upload documents/folders

Systemanforderungen: System requirements OneDrive

Directly to the following sections:
Create OneDrive synchronization Windows
Create OneDrive synchronization macOS
Synchronize selected folders
Disconnect OneDrive synchronization
Rename OneDrive project folder
Fix OneDrive synchronization problems

Create OneDrive synchronization Windows

Switch to the documents in the respective project.
Click on synchronize.

Enter the name of the project folder and click on Synchronize.

The following messages appear, click on Open Microsoft OneDrive.

Note: You may still need to log in to OneDrive

The project is now displayed in your OneDrive.

Create OneDrive synchronization macOS

Switch to the documents in the respective project
Click on synchronize.

Enter the name of the project folder and click on Synchronize.

The following message appears, click Allow.

You will be asked to log in during the first synchronization.
Enter your e-mail address and password:

Click on Next

The synchronized folder is now displayed in the Finder

Synchronize selected folders

You can set that only desired folders are synchronized (identical for Windows and macOS)

To select the folders:
Open OneDrive, select Help and settings and then click on Settings.

In the settings, navigate to Account and click on Select folder for the desired project.

You can now deselect the folders that should not be synchronized.
After selecting, click on OK.

Disconnect OneDrive synchronization

To end the synchronization of OneDrive and then delete the project from the Explorer, proceed as follows (Windows and macOS identical):

Open OneDrive, select Help and settings and then click on Settings.

In the settings, navigate to Account and click on Stop synchronization for the desired project.

The following message appears, click on Finish synchronization.

The project / project folder can then be deleted in OneDrive.

If no icon is displayed for the folder under Status, the project is no longer synchronized and can be deleted. If a project is deleted where a cloud is displayed under Status, the project data is also deleted on buildagil.

Rename OneDrive project folder

To rename a project / project folder in OneDrive, proceed as follows (identical for Windows and macOS):

First, end synchronization with OneDrive for the desired project. This is described in the following section: Disconnect OneDrive synchronization

The project folder can be renamed after synchronization has been completed.

The synchronization can then be re-established via buildagil. The same name must be entered in the label as for the customized folder on OneDrive.

Fix OneDrive synchronization problems

If data is no longer synchronized via OneDrive, there are various causes for the problem. The following section outlines some possible solutions to resolve the problem.

Close & restart OneDrive
Right-click on the OneDrive icon in the taskbar and select Exit OneDrive.

Then restart OneDrive by entering OneDrive in the Start search field and selecting it.

OneDrive is now started and the synchronization process is initialized again.

OneDrive Reset
The reset completely interrupts the synchronization and creates a new one.

Press the Windows key + R. Enter (copy) the command %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset and start.

This may now take a few minutes. The OneDrive icon will disappear and OneDrive will restart automatically after the reset.

If this is not the case, you can restart OneDrive via the Start menu / All apps, or in:
Windows key + R enter (copy) the command %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe and start.
