File Sharing with GoodSync

Setting Up Document Sharing with GoodSync

GoodSync is a data synchronization program that can access the buildagil document repository. With GoodSync, you can efficiently and systematically import large amounts of data into buildagil and set up automated backups.

For more information on how to use GoodSync in combination with buildagil, see the following articles:

Importing or backing up large amounts of data may cause the connection to be temporarily throttled or interrupted, and individual files may need to be reprocessed. It is therefore recommended to execute imports and backups overnight or on weekends, as bandwidth is higher and throttling is lower during these times. In addition, the backup interval should be chosen appropriately (e.g., every two weeks or monthly).

Instructions for Connecting GoodSync to buildagil
To establish a connection to buildagil, select "OneDrive Office 365 SharePoint."

Next, in the Authorization section under Advanced Options, enter the following ID under Tenant: ebd25fe4-c9e3-474f-81d0-59b4c8423fbd
Then click Connect to OneDrive, Office 365, and SharePoint.

Logging in to multiple platforms at the same time may result in conflicts. You can use Goodsnyc's private login mode to avoid this.

In addition, the path must be changed to msgraph://graph.microsoft.com/sites/:site:buildagil.sharepoint.com.

The connection is then established, and you can select a destination folder for the data transfer.
To select the destination folder, select the project at the "SITE" level and then click "[DRIVE] Documents."

Troubleshooting

If the following troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please feel free to contact Support.

Error Message When Attempting to Connect

If the error message "Forbidden (status code 403) [accessDenied] Access denied" appears, this usually indicates that the path has been entered incorrectly. Entering the correct path will resolve the error. For more information, see the following section: Setting Up Document Sharing with GoodSync.

Compatibility Issues with Long Folder or Document Paths

Microsoft-based systems are subject to a path length limit of 260 characters. If this limit is exceeded, files may no longer open. Moving the file to a location with a shorter path can restore access.

The following information can be provided on this topic:

  • Local data storage (Windows): Longer paths can be processed.
  • Servers / Network Drives (Windows): The path length limit may apply here. This restriction can be removed through appropriate configuration.
  • SharePoint: Path length restrictions apply here. Documents whose path exceeds the maximum length cannot be opened.
  • GoodSync: Can handle path restrictions. However, the destination system must also be able to read files with long paths; otherwise, the documents cannot be opened.
