Principle

Sensible, targeted, and transparent use of artificial intelligence (AI)

buildagil uses artificial intelligence (AI) specifically where it provides meaningful support to users and creates added value. AI simplifies existing roles, makes it easier to obtain information, and supports workflows. At the same time, transparency, data protection, information security, data sovereignty, integrity, and the confidentiality of data are given the highest priority. AI does not replace professional judgment, review, or decision-making by users. Responsibility remains with the users at all times.

AI is used in two different ways at buildagil:

Integrated AI
The AI integrated into buildagil is primarily used to support roles, processes, and workflows directly within the platform. These roles are implemented, controlled, and operated by buildagil on buildagil’s data centers. All functions in buildagil that use AI can be viewed by searching for “Artificial Intelligence” in the Knowledge Base of buildagil.

External AI
buildagil enables access to content via appropriate interfaces (OpenCDE API and the openCDE MCP Server) by external AI systems that have been released by the respective organization and comply with its security, data protection, and governance requirements. Organizations retain control at all times over which AI systems may be used, which users are granted access to AI functions, which data may be processed, and which actions may be performed. This allows buildagil to be integrated into existing corporate policies and AI strategies.

The following section explains the key principles of using integrated AI in buildagil.

Data Sovereignty, Data Protection, and Security

Ownership and control of the data stored in buildagil remain with the respective organizations and users at all times. A core principle of buildagil is that data is not used to train AI models unless the data owners have given their express consent.

The use of AI and the processing of data are carried out exclusively for the purpose of providing the requested role and within the scope of Privacy Policy for buildagil. If external AI services are used for individual roles, the service providers are transparently documented in the Data Processing Agreement. The same security and data protection requirements apply here as for all other data processed in buildagil.

Transparency and Traceability

Trust in AI requires transparency. That is why buildagil documents the AI roles it offers, along with their intended purpose and scope of application, in the Knowledge Base. AI-generated content is labeled as such whenever possible and appropriate. This allows users to recognize whether content was generated automatically. Where technically possible and appropriate, the sources used are cited so that the origin can be traced.

Governance and Control

AI roles are not a mandatory part of using buildagil and are optional. Choosing not to use them does not affect the other roles of buildagil. The existing visibility and authorization models remain fully intact even when AI is used. AI systems can only access data if the requesting user or the authorized system has the appropriate permissions.

Users' Responsibilities

AI can summarize, analyze, and structure content, but it cannot assume professional responsibility. Users remain responsible for the use and interpretation of AI-generated results. Before using AI-generated content, it must be checked for plausibility, completeness, and professional accuracy.
