Troubleshooting

Many problems can be solved with the following steps. If your problem is not resolved despite the execution of these steps, buildagil support will be happy to help you.

Registration

For more information on troubleshooting the login process, please refer to the following article: Troubleshooting during registration.

Incognito mode for fault isolation

Incognito mode makes it possible to open buildagil without saved cache data. This allows you to check whether there is a problem with the browser's cache before it is emptied and you have to log in to all services again.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and click on the three-dot menu at the top right
  2. Select "New incognito window
  3. Log in to buildagil and test the behavior in the browser

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge and click on the three-dot menu at the top right
  2. Select "New InPrivate window
  3. Log in to buildagil and test the behavior in the browser

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox and click on the three-dot menu at the top right
  2. Select "New private window
  3. Log in to buildagil and test the behavior in the browser

Apple Safari

  1. Open Safari and click on "File" in the menu bar
  2. Select "New private window
  3. Log in to buildagil and test the behavior in the browser

If buildagil works correctly in the private window, execution of the following troubleshooting steps is recommended.

Restarting the app

Some problems can be solved by restarting buildagil. To execute a new start, the option "Restart app" can be called via Personal settings.

The restart can be confirmed in the dialog that opens.

Delete local data

If the problem is not resolved by a simple restart, the local data can be deleted in a second step. This may mean that a new login is necessary and the Buildagil Opener must be reinstalled, as this clears the app cache.

When you delete the local data, all unsaved content, such as comments, is lost.

To delete the local data, the "Delete local data" dialog can be called up via Personal settings and the "Restart app" option.

Deactivating the preview version

The preview version of buildagil provides access to the latest roles that are still in the final testing phase. As these roles have not yet been finally released, problems may occur. Deactivating the preview version will reset buildagil to the normal version. You can find more information on the preview version in the following article: Preview version. The preview version can be activated and deactivated via Personal settings.

Empty the browser cache

If you have problems logging in to buildagil, it can help to clear the browser cache. This will delete all saved login information. By deleting the cache, you will need to log in again.

Apple Safari

On a Mac, the cache can be emptied using the following key combination: cmd + alt + E.

Alternatively, the option can be opened via the Safari developer menu.

  1. Open Safari and click on "Safari" in the menu bar at the top left and then on "Preferences"
  2. Go to "Advanced" in the top right-hand corner of the settings and check the "Show developer menu in the menu bar" box. The "Developer" option will then appear in the menu bar
  3. Click on the "Developer" option you have just added and select "Clear cache memory"

Lost settings after restart

If the login to buildagil has to be executed again every time the device or browser is restarted or the buildagil Opener has to be reinstalled, this may be due to the cache settings of the browser or operating system.

Check whether incognito mode is being used

No data is saved in the cache in incognito mode. It should be ensured that the normal browser mode is used to retain the settings and login data.

Check settings for deleting browser data when closing

Check whether the browser is set to delete all browsing data on close. This can be done in Microsoft Edge under edge://settings/clearBrowsingDataOnClose. If this option is activated, it should be deactivated so that the data remains saved in the cache.

Check Windows settings

Certain data protection settings in Windows can prevent the browser from saving data. If necessary, the adjustment must be made by the internal IT department.
