Troubleshooting

The following steps can resolve many issues. If your problem persists after the execution of these steps, buildagil Support will be happy to assist you.

Registration

For more information on troubleshooting sign-in issues, see the following article: Troubleshooting Login Issues.

Incognito Mode for Troubleshooting

Incognito mode allows you to open buildagil without any cached data. This lets you check whether a problem is caused by the browser's cache before clearing it, which would require you to log in to all services again.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner
  2. Select "New Incognito Window"
  3. Log in to buildagil and test the behavior in the browser

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge and click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner
  2. Select "New InPrivate Window"
  3. Log in to buildagil and test the behavior in the browser

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox and click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner
  2. Select "New Private Window"
  3. Log in to buildagil and test the behavior in the browser

Apple Safari

  1. Open Safari and click "File" in the menu bar
  2. Select "New Private Window"
  3. Log in to buildagil and test the behavior in the browser

If buildagil works correctly in an incognito window, we recommend the execution of the troubleshooting steps below.

Restart the app

Some issues can be resolved by restarting buildagil. To restart it, use the Personal settings command with the option "Restart the new app".

In the dialog box that opens, you can confirm the restart.

Deleting Local Data

If a simple restart does not resolve the issue, you can delete the local data as a next step. This may require you to log in again and reinstall the Buildagil Opener new app, as this clears the app cache.

When you delete your local data, all unsaved content—such as comments—will be lost.

To delete the local data, click Personal settings and select the option "Restart the new app" to open the "Delete Local Data" dialog.

Clearing the Browser Cache

If you're having trouble logging in to buildagil, clearing your browser's cache may help. This will delete all saved login information. Deleting the cache will require you to log in again.

Apple Safari
On a Mac, you can clear the cache using the following keyboard shortcut: cmd + alt + E

Alternatively, you can open the option from Safari's Developer menu.

  1. Open Safari, click "Safari" in the top-left corner of the menu bar, and then click "Preferences"
  2. In the settings in the upper-right corner, click "Advanced" and check the box next to "Show Developer menu in the menu bar." The "Developer" option will then appear in the menu bar.
  3. Click the "Developer" option you just added and select "Clear Cache"

Lost Settings After a Restart

If you have to log in to buildagil again or reinstall the buildagil Opener every time you restart your device or browser, this may be due to the cache settings of your browser or operating system.

Check whether Incognito Mode is being used
In incognito mode, no data is saved in the cache. Make sure to use normal browser mode to retain your settings and login information.

Check the settings to delete browser data when closing the browser
Check whether the browser is set to delete all browsing data when it is closed. In Microsoft Edge, this can be done at edge://settings/clearBrowsingDataOnClose. If this option is enabled, it should be disabled so that the data is saved in the cache.

Check Windows Settings
Certain privacy settings in Windows may prevent the browser from saving data. If necessary, this adjustment must be made by the internal IT department.
