Linking Folders & Documents

Please note: Links always refer to the original document. Changes made to the linked document will also overwrite the original.

A document can be referenced in other elements using a copied link, without having to upload the file again. The link always points to the current version of the original document in the document repository.

Single Selection

With single selection, the link to a single document is copied via the context menu. To do this, right-click the desired object and select the "Copy Link" option.

Multiple Selection

With multiple selection, you can copy links to several documents at once. To do this, select the desired objects and choose the "Copy Link" option from the menu.

The copied link can then be pasted using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V or by right-clicking and selecting the "Paste" option.

Linking Documents & Folders in Element Descriptions & Comments

Documents can be linked directly in the description or in the Comment of an entry. This makes it easier to access relevant documents in the respective context without having to search for them separately in the document repository. This role is available in Tasks & Topics, in Journal, in the interactive protocol for pending items from Meetings and in the protocol of Controls & Inspections.

In the description, you can open the document library via the attachments. This allows you to select and add the desired document or folder.

In the comment field, you can also create links using the attachments.

Link to a document in the description, link to a document in a comment, attachments, link to a folder, add an attachment, link to a document in Tasks & Topics, link to a document in the Journal, link to a document in Controls & Inspections, open the document repository, Link in comment field, file reference in description
