Storage optimization of OneDrive

The following article describes how buildagil projects can be synchronized with OneDrive: Synchronization with OneDrive.

OneDrive On-Demand

OneDrive On-Demand should always be used for OneDrive synchronization with buildagil. Files synchronized via OneDrive should not be marked as available offline or downloaded, as this unnecessarily takes up local storage space and can lead to synchronization problems. In the OneDrive settings, the storage space can be completely released in the advanced settings and thus all files can be made available via OneDrive On-Demand. You can find more information about OneDrive On-Demand in the following article: Save storage space with OneDrive files on demand for Windows.

Sharing OneDrive storage space for folders or files

With OneDrive, entire projects or individual folders can be downloaded. The new versions of the files are always stored on the local save. This is only useful if you need to access the data without an internet connection. The status of a folder or file indicates whether the item is saved locally.

The "Free up storage space" option can be selected via the item options to deactivate the "Always keep on this device" option.

Activate Windows memory optimization

Windows storage optimization allows you to set a time frame after which unused and locally stored files are deleted from OneDrive. The files are then only deleted from the local save, but are still available online on buildagil and via OneDrive. Automatic cleanup of user content can be set in the Windows settings under Storage optimization. In addition, a time period can be set under "Locally available cloud content" for each synchronized project after which the files are to be removed from the local save.
