Accepting the invitation

Here you can find information about the system requirements

Invitation email

The invitation to buildagil is sent by e-mail from a project manager. Click on "Accept invitation" to start the registration process.

If you already have a Microsoft account for your e-mail address, you can log in with your Microsoft login as described in the next paragraph.

If no Microsoft account is registered to your e-mail address, you can create an account with a password in just a few steps. You can find instructions for this in the following section: Accepting the invitation with a new Microsoft account

Accept the invitation with an existing Microsoft account

After selecting "Accept invitation", the registration page opens automatically.

The e-mail address can be entered here.

Please note that the e-mail address with which you received the invitation and the e-mail address with which you register must be identical.

Enter the Microsoft account password and complete the sign-in process.

The access authorization can then be checked and confirmed.

Optionally, automatic login can be activated. You will then be redirected to Project start page.

Accept the invitation with a new Microsoft account

If no Microsoft account exists for the e-mail address, the registration will be started after clicking on "Accept invitation".

The Microsoft service automatically recognizes that no account exists yet. Registration can be continued via the following screen.

In the next step, a new password can be created.

A verification code will be sent to the e-mail address provided to confirm the e-mail address. The code must be entered to complete the registration.

The access authorization can then be checked and confirmed.

Optionally, automatic login can be activated. You will then be redirected to Project start page.

Troubleshooting when creating a Microsoft account

If a Microsoft account cannot be created when accepting the invitation, this is often due to the email address used. The message "You cannot register with a business, school or university email address" appears. Company addresses cannot be used for personal Microsoft accounts if this domain is already assigned to a company (tenant). In this case, no personal account can be created with this address. The invitation cannot be accepted because Microsoft recognizes this domain as business and blocks the account creation.

Possible solution:
The organization uses Microsoft 365
If your organization uses Microsoft 365, a Microsoft account must be set up by the responsible IT department. As soon as access has been released, you can log in with your company address.

No Microsoft account available
If your organization does not have any Microsoft accounts and creation is still not possible, a new personal Microsoft account can be created with a free address - e.g. Via outlook.com. This personal account must then be given a new invitation to the project so that the invitation can be accepted and buildagil can be accessed.

Troubleshooting for blocked account creation

In some cases, account creation is blocked by Microsoft. The message "Account creation has been blocked" appears. This may be due to network conditions or security settings, for example. In such cases, the following measures can help:

  • Try creation via another network (e.g. Mobile Internet or hotspot)
  • Try creating an account again at a later date

Troubleshooting when redeeming the invitation

If the message "Error redeeming invitation" appears when opening the invitation email, the invitation could not be processed correctly. The email address used is already assigned to a Microsoft or Azure tenant. When opening, the user is automatically redirected to their own tenant.

This can have the following possible causes:

  • Another Microsoft account is already logged in to the browser, which means that the invitation is not assigned correctly
  • There are policies or security settings in the organization's Microsoft or Azure tenant that block the invitation

Possible solutions:

Registration, Register, Sign in, New Microsoft account, Registration, Accept invitation, Confirm e-mail
