# Model Editing with Archicad

### Benefits of the Archicad app
With the Archicad app, project content such as [Model tasks](/en/article/creating-and-viewing-bcf-and-model-tasks-c6gbjn/) from buildagil can be viewed, and related model views can be opened directly in Archicad. The Archicad app allows you to access buildagil directly from within Archicad itself. This makes it possible to make model adjustments efficiently, since you don’t have to search for the relevant sections manually. Once the app is installed, you can open the Archicad app via the “buildagil” tab and make the [Registration](/en/article/registration-login-1ey6ebr/) on buildagil.

### Settings
To define the location of an Archicad model and enable coordination with other programs, the survey point must be set in the project. These settings can also be accessed via the "buildagil" tab. There, you can choose between "Project Origin" and "Survey Point." Additionally, you can start the add-on new from within the settings.

Project Origin:
Fixed origin (0,0,0) of the coordinate system in the Archicad project. This remains unchanged throughout the entire project.

Survey Point:
A reference point for determining the exact position and elevation of the model in the real world. Important for interoperability with other programs that also use a global reference point.

### Editing Models and Model Tasks
Models and CAD files, such as .pln files, that are saved on buildagil can be opened directly in Archicad from the Documents folder. For more information, see the following article: [Opening Documents in Local Programs](/en/article/opening-folders-documents-in-a-local-program-19y5m5g/). You can then open the Archicad app to access all project content on buildagil. For more information on navigation in the Archicad app, see the following article: [Navigation Apps](/en/article/navigation-in-the-apps-11d1fx7/). Using the "Project" tab, you can open and view a list of all the project’s model tasks.

Model views from buildagil can be opened directly in Archicad. When this is done, the corresponding model view is automatically displayed in Archicad.

The model from buildagil can be displayed right next to the model in Archicad. This also allows you to access all model tasks and associated model views.

With the [OneDrive Synchronization](/en/article/synchronization-with-onedrive-ptcako/), exports of IFC and PDF files can be saved directly to buildagil.
