# Editing Images

| When you edit an image, the elements are permanently embedded in the file, which is why they can no longer be changed after saving. If a change is necessary, an earlier version can be restored via the [Version history](/en/article/document-version-history-1iuorzz/).

### Edit Images
The following section describes how to edit images directly in buildagil.
In the open image, click **Edit Online** or the "pencil icon."

### Machining Tools

1. **Moving the Image/Selecting and Editing Elements**
When an item is selected, the following options are available:
Edit Element Style / Delete Element
You can move and rotate the element using the handles.

Under "Style," there are various options for editing the appearance of the selected element (e.g., color, thickness, opacity, symbols, text size, etc.).

| Tip: When you change an element's style, the settings are saved and applied when you draw the next element.

9. **Create a crop**
The cropped section of the image is saved to the clipboard and can then be added to a comment or description of a [Task](/en/article/editing-tasks-r5pirz/), [Model task](/en/article/creating-and-viewing-bcf-and-model-tasks-c6gbjn/), plan section, or [Journal entry](/en/article/editing-journal-entries-azpo2c/).
